Marquez graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico, with an associates degree. He told Marquez that he would encourage people to get vaccinated. Marquez was the first Latino to serve on the court. His first reporting job was at WNBC in New York where he covered the daily events of the city.
